Open For Business: Safety Protocols In Place

At Montague Miller & Co we want to express our gratitude to all of our friends and clients for putting your trust in our agents and company as we continue to focus on helping you realize your real estate goals. While serving central Virginia for over seven decades, we have weathered a few challenges although the Covid pandemic has been most unique. We have been blessed over the last 16 months to not only have survived, but to have thrived. We have you, our loyal friends and clients to thank. While the greatest challenges of the pandemic may be behind us, the repercussions and effects on the market will likely be felt for some time to come.

At Montague Miller our primary concern is to you, our friends and clients and for your health and safety. The steps we have taken both internally with our agents and employees, and in our recommendations to you, our buyers, sellers, and tenants continues to focus on the safety as well as the comfort of those around us. Our aim is to minimize risk while continuing to meet your needs in the real estate world. There are a number of steps we are continuing to take.

We want to assure our clients that health and safety is of utmost importance and have the following plans in place.

  • Sellers: If you are putting your home on the market you have the right to request that COVID procedures (masks, hand sanitizers, etc) be required when Agents or prospective buyers enter your home. There are many additional steps you can take to mitigate concerns about the spread of the Virus and our Agents would be happy to discuss those with you.
  • Buyers: When looking at homes you and your Agent must adhere to the requests of any Seller as to Covid precautions they require. This may range from none to face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and booties. You are of course able to be more cautious than what is required as well. Discuss with your Agent whether you prefer to ride together or in separate cars. And discuss with your Agent your preferences when getting together. People feel many different ways about what precautions may be necessary at this time but our goal is make things both comfortable and safe for you.
  • Office: While our offices are now fully open, we are still requesting that everyone wear masks when in the public spaces within the building. When in the conference rooms or agent offices all are free to remove masks although if you are not vaccinated we would request that you continue to wear masks at all times in our buildings.

While the real estate market slowed dramatically in March and April of last year, the recovery from that time has been robust. We were fortunate that Real Estate was considered an essential service by the state, enabling us to continue serving you throughout this trying time. We are grateful for the trust you have placed in us. If you don’t have an Agent already and would like get to know our Agents in your area, visit We would be delighted to assist you in your real estate journey.

With best regards,

Rives Bailey
